Duratec 300
Description
Duratec 300 is a chromium-enriched electrode. The electrode deposits a tough weld metal which can tolerate moderate rolling loads, mild abrasion and frictional loading as well as good impact resistance. Multilayers are possible.
Weld Metal Hardness
20 Rockwell C
± 48 Rockwell C (if heated to 900°C and quenched in oil)
Application
Typical applications include: shafts, worn rail ends, tractor rails and drive sprockets. Other applications include rebuilding of worn rail ends, tractor rails and drive sprockets. More applications include rebuilding of worn mild steel or low alloy machine parts where machining after welding is possible and it can also be used as a buffer layer between base metal and harder overlays.

Packaging
Electrodes are packed in 5kg boxes which are then packed into 25kg shipper cartons.
Re-Drying Procedure
Place electrodes in an oven at 350-370°C for 1-3 hours or 250-280°C for 2-3 hours.
