Duratec WC

Description

Duratec WC is a solid extruded hard facing electrode with a high percentage tungsten carbide. The electrode deposits a highly abrasion resistant weld metal with no impact resistance. No more than two layers should be deposited over one another and deposits are subjected to relief cracking. Deposits may be made on cast iron, mild steel, low alloy steels and austenitic manganese steels without preheating. High carbon steels should be preheated to 500°C before welding and cooled down slowly. The weld fluidity is good and fumes are minimal.

Weld Metal Hardness

85 Rockwell C

Application

Typical applications include: plough disks, shredder knives, mixer knives, small mill beaters, stabilizer teeth, exhaust fan blades (coal and cement industries), suction dredge blades, plug mill knives, oil well drills, rock drills, ditcher teeth, bottom pan scrapers, dry cement pump screws, post hole auger blades and teeth churn drills.
